First and foremost, warm congratulations to Wang Yihuan, a student from the Overseas Study Class of Grade 11 (who graduated from Anqing Foreign Language School's west campus), for her outstanding performance in the 2026 British Physics Olympiad (Online Senior Physics Challenge). With her solid academic foundation and indomitable spirit of striving, she stood out among numerous global competitors and won the Silver Award!
To be specific, the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) is an international physics competition organized by the British Physics Olympiad Association, aiming to promote physics education among students worldwide. Since its establishment in 1979, BPhO has been dedicated to inspiring students' interest in physics, fostering their scientific inquiry skills and problem-solving techniques through competitions. Each year, BPhO offers participation opportunities to students of all grades, with competition content covering basic to advanced physics knowledge, encouraging students to challenge themselves while enhancing their understanding of physics.
What's more, the official website of the Natural Sciences program at the University of Cambridge explicitly includes BPhO in the list of recommended extracurricular academic activities. More remarkably, top universities around the world, including the G5 universities in the UK, also regard the award-winning experience of BPhO as an important piece of evidence for the academic potential of applicants.
